So im making a solo to the song Viking KOng by paul gilbert and i have made this lick:

Using the E dominant phrygian scale.

How do i make this lick more gilbertish?

I cant play it at full speed yet, but i bet you can.. how does it sound? is it a gilbert sounding lick? i tryed to make it the same as your lick in your speed developing lesson.

Thank you Jose smile.gif

Paul Gilbert uses a combination of hammer ons and alternate when doing patterns like these. He will probably alternate pick the first three notes and hammer on the next three, or the other way around, I believe he does this in songs like Colorado Bulldog, and sounds great, give that a try it might even make it easier, not at first because you have to retrain the hand not to alternate pick some of the notes, but once you get it you will save energy and sound more Gilbertish
