Yeah, I guess Im a strat man as well, even though I own other guitars. As I wrote in another post, I sold my 64' vintage strat back in the 80's for like 1300 bucks, I wish i had that one now... tongue.gif
But anyway, thats interesting that You should build a strat, Im planning to do the same, but it's going to be a copy of a vintage one. What are You planning ???

Hi staffay, the strat i,m planning on building is modern and custom, a while back i bought this beautiful body froma guy in hong kong, i got it off of e-bay and then i went to Stewart Macdonald for my gold hardware, then i ordered a custom CBS style neck from Warmoth, i just got it a couple of days ago! i waited 2 months for it, but it was more than worth it! it,s unbelieveable it has a compound radius fretboard 10 deg. at the nut and flattens out to a 16 deg. radius at the 22 fret and it has no inlay markers and a vintage honey tint on it. the only piece i,m waiting on now is my gold bridge assembly, once i have that i,m good to go for the final assembly oh also my pickguard is aztec glod pearloid and at the last minute i decided to go with seymour duncan pickups a JB-jr in the bridge and neck and a duckbucker in the middle with a 5 way switch, maybe tonight or tomrrow i,ll make a video of some of my gear and then you,ll get a better idea of what it looks like!!

Whao, that sounds awesome. I have a Warmoth Jackson type Strat that I've built in the late 80's, its a really good piece in Swamp ash (one-piece) and its just wonderful to play, but its more of a heavy-metal guitar that doesn't have the "twang" -sound. The Warmoth parts are really top-of-the-line in my opinion.

Yeah, it had some playing, but the wood is actually that dark, I dont remember what kind of wood it is, but it was top-notch back in the eighties...
