Didn't know if this was off-topic or a guitar thingy but I choose to post here. Kris, just move it if you think it doesn't belong here!

Thing is, when we (the band) have performed on stage I find myself just standing straight up playing my things like a zombie. Simply because I don't know what to do.

What's fitting for a rock dude my age (37)? Headbanging is out of the question, I cut off my loooooong blonde metal hair *crying* before I got married in -99 and now it's machine cut about 10 mm and I doubt my Brad Pitt beard will swing in a cool way either. wink.gif

So just move damn it, how hard can it be? Well, that's the point. Performing on small stages there's often not more than one square meters of space to play around with. And even if I had a huge stage to myself I wouldn't know what to do... I bet that would be even harder.
And rock poses like standing with ones feel widely apart, like Zakk Wylde does and many before him in my eyes just look ridiciolous... but if you guys say it's cool I'll do it anyway biggrin.gif
Mooning is cool but out of the question. So is showing off any other private parts aswell.

We tried once that the other guitarist ran out in the audience during his solo but that was just a great failure, noone noticed him and everyone looked at me and cheered thinking I was playing the solo though I clearly was playing rhythm... I don't mind since it was a great solo rolleyes.gif

Tips? Ideas? The only routine I've got is during the break between two songs when I move my bent right arm up towards my mouth, bend my neck backwards a bit, hold that position for a while, return my head and bring my arm down again to put away the beer bottle.
I need a bit better stuff than that cool.gif

Oh.. and the genre is rock, from Cream (Clapton) to Deep purple - not "smoke" ;-) - Sabbath and Ozzy.

Well just because you have no hair doesnt mean you cant headbang, look at phil anselmo(sometimes anyway) and kerry king, they have no hair and they still just let loose.

When you play live, whatever you feel you need to do, do it, i feel liek i should headbang, so i usually do, except when i have a little complex or difficult solo, then i just prop my guitar on my leg like Laiho (C.O.B.) Does. or you can just play with the crowd, yell at them, get them to do stuff, run around, whatever, the main point is just have fun.
