I attended his clinic session last year at Wichita. He is a really cool guy. I was totally blown away with his guitar playing. I came an hour early, (I'm the first guest arrived), I talked to him before the show when he was still setting up his rig. I can tell he is a really cool guy. During the show, he shared a lot of his experiences, tips and encouragement, really.

I would like to watch andy timmons one day. tongue.gif

USA obviously he said MAB used it that night... XD

I just checked. Believe it or not I never thought to check at the time. Turns out it is Korean. No big deal. It is still a really great guitar. The frets are great none of them hang over the edge and it frets so easily. Active EMG's and a real Floyd Rose Trem not a licensed one.
To me the picture with him and the fact that he played it all night and then signed it To Kyle from Michael Angelo Batio on the front and back is worth much more than I ended up paying. So its all good. smile.gif Now I just need to get Paul Gilbert to play and sign my PGM401!

I feel fortunate that I got to see him because he said he has a couple of more clinics and then it might be a very long time before he does this again because he has a big world tour coming up and many other projects in the works that are going to make this kind of thing hard to do.

Hehe sounds like you got done by MAB but if it was half price i suppose thats a good deal XD

The price I paid was half price for that model. I checked. So there was nothing underhanded about the transaction. I just did not check if it was American or Korean. He never tried to pass it off as American at an American price. I have not even checked to see if there is an American Version of this guitar. But anyway it does not matter. It still has all the high end parts that matter. The EMG's the Real Floyd Rose etc and the neck and frets are like butter. So its all good in my book. smile.gif

Ha Ha very true!! I have been telling myself that since about 10 guitars ago! smile.gif I have slowly been collecting signature guitars by all the shredders. Paul Gilbert, Vai, etc.... I do practice every day. So hopefully I will be worthy of some of my guitars in the future smile.gif My goal is to finally meet all of them one day and maybe get their signatures and if possible get them to play a little lick on my guitar. It was awesome to get the guitar the MAB had played all night. He asked why I wanted it because it had some swirl marks on the back from his metal buttons on his jacket. I told him I would much rather have the guitar he had played all night. Maybe some of his skill with be transfered back through the strings into my fingers.... smile.gif smile.gif I told him that and he thought it was kinda cool.

He did lots of talking between songs. He talked about how you need to stick with it and finish what you start. He talked about youtube and the internet and how great it is today to be a guitar player with all the advances in home recording etc. He told lots of cool stories about being on sunset strip Guns N Roses and Motley Crue etc. He talked about his journey with guitar playing and how its all about playing and practicing every day. He did talk about technique and some other technical stuff but all of that is pretty well covered in his instructional videos. It was great to sit about 10 ft away from him and watch him shred. It was like we were just hanging out at someones house. An experience that I will never forget. He is very smart to do it this way. A really great way to build a strong fan base by being humble and taking time to motivate and encourage other guitar players. After my experience I will always have great things to say about MAB and I will probably be more inclined to buy his new instructional products as a way to thank him for taking the time. I feel the same way about the instructors here at GMC. Some truly talented players that are just as good as MAB and they take the time to answer our questions day in and day out. I always make sure my subscription is renewed because sites like this one with the kind of material available and the talent present here is not easy to find and I would hate to see it ever go away.

Nice Axe! I really want the 7 string RUSTY COOLEY shred machine. But I'd be happy with any of their new line. They look great and sound killer.
