Ruben very good work!
1st and 2nd tempos are great. You are having trouble with 120bpm. Try to do it clean and clear at 105 then go for 110 then 115 and then tackle 120. I am sure you will have it down in less then a week if you do it that way.
Looking forward to 4th example!

Thanks pedja i know :S it sound to muddy will do taht in my free time =) ...going to tackle teh 4th now =)

HI pedja , noticed one thing... when i increase speed on any of the licks i start to hit the strings with less pick(more with the tip of the pick ) and and with less strength ... is this correct to do or sould i fix this ?? ... i think this is what makes my sound more muddy than clear...

I can hear you having problem with unwanted noise on strings B and E when you are coming back ! Work on that, don't lift your fingers too much of the strings, avoid sudden movements and use inside of your left hand fingers to mute the strings as you change them!

Ruben that tends to happen. This is why I suggest working slowly and building tempos bit by bit. That way you will be able to correct your picking habits on the spot. Right now I can't tell you to use one picking method always. I do that and it works for me but for very fast tempo there has to be some sort of correction one way or the other. The important thing is that it shouldn't change your sound drastically and that execution is there!

OK .. so i guess i will have to practice this exercise a lot :S at some slow tempos....

thanks i will work bit by bit until every thing sounds just
perfect to my ears=)

- so i´m currently working on the exercise 5 i´m having trouble on the last bend cause i have to jump from the g string to the e and i find that a bit harsh to do :S but a part from that i find the rest of the exercise farly easy =)

Here is the exercise number 5 ( i´m not very happy with it since i wasn´t able to get to a nice speed nor get any decent take of the 90 bpm there was allways some string buzzing :S)

Ruben you did best with 2nd tempo on Exercise 5. When you went to last tempo there was unwanted string noise due to improper left hand muting. Watch the videos how I did that one and you will see how my left hand fingers lift from strings. Find the balance, don't do it too sudden otherwise you will touch other strings and get unwanted noise. It is all about practice. Just focus on raising tempos slowly and you will have it. Keep working on this material in your free time, don't leave it, we must move onto next assignment now.

Now we move onto your 2nd assignment for December. Deadline for 2nd assignment is 18th of December (6 days from today).

Sweep picking

- Record audio and/or video of sweep picking exercises provided.
- Tempo of your choice.
- For extra work try to do examples in couple of different tempos!

You can find videos of the exercises HERE

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Ruben,

I watched your video and noticed one very important thing. Your right hand is doing great its the left hand thats having problems coordinating. Put your left hand thumb behind the guitar neck and rest it there! With the thumb on top (like you have it in the video) it will be very difficult to have noiseless sweeps!
Let me know if that helps. I am very excited to see a new video from you !
