im wondering if anyone could help me with getting a good feedback sound...some songs im trying to play have feedback and i cant get a good controlable feedback when i hold the guitar picks ups facing the amp speakers.......im wondering if there is a better way to achieve this sound or can u get a feedback pedal...or even just anything anyone knows about feedback would be muchly appreciated.

Hmm...don't really know, turn up your amp, I always get more feedback when playing loud.
I've never heard of a feedback pedal, but I'm not the guy to ask about pedals.

I've never heard of a feedback pedal but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

The thing is though that you need to remember what feedback is. It's a signal loop. In the case of a guitar, the sound from the amp needs to have enough power for the guitar's pickups to hear so that they'll send that signal back to the amp and you repeat. Same thing happens on a PA system with a microphone when you point the mic at the PA.

You either have to have the amp loud enough to make it through the pickups, or the volume on the pickups needs to be up enough for it to pick up what's coming from the amp...or a combination of the two. It's a lot harder to do with smaller amps from what I've seen.

Listen to a song like Smells like Teen Spirit, right after the solo Kurt just holds down the same note and you will hear it feeding back for about 30 seconds.

I just point my pickups in the general direction of my amp, and tap the strings lightly and i get some feedback. it only worked once i started using Dimarzio pickups though, so maybe only certain pickups / amps react to this method
