Now, I really feel like a gear-geek. After David`s last vid on youtube, I decided to check out V-picks, and I`ve now spent the last half hour of my life to look at picks, and ended up ordering a starter pack, a bass pack and some premium picks (the Shredder in variable thickness and a night-glower tongue.gif)

My guitar friends call me crazy for paying 5$ for each pick, but I`m quite curious too see if they`re worth it when the arrive biggrin.gif

V-Picks are cool! I have about twenty of them ... I couldn't use a regular pick anymore. Every now and then I try some of my others lying around and always go straight back to some flavour of a V-Pick. Simply awesome gear!!

I really liked my v-picks, and i guess i still do..

The thing is, with the ones that i have, a regular pick sounds better when chucking away.. my regular dunlop 0.8x pick have a bit more punch to it and the attacks just sounds better..

I totally love the sound the v-picks give me when soloing though.. it's a softer tone..

That is the thing. Everyone's experience and mileage will vary. It all depends on everything else in the chain as well not just one sole piece of the puzzle but I had forgotten all about the humble pick until recently as a means to an end - the tone you are looking for. I had tried pretty much all else bar that. My take is that regular picks just sound plain dull and feel awful to play with. The pick noise is more accentuated with a V-Pick but I am learning to accept it and move on .... I get much more in the bargain that outweighs the niggling imperfections.

i tried metal picks, those sounds good with a LOT of attack, but those are string brokers, believe me smile.gif
also they will "ruin" your guitar painting job if you dont have a plastic pickguard.

use them sometimes in the studio tho, new strings + metal pick = super shinny punchy sound smile.gif
