We briefly looked at the SSL4000 emulation and its pretty good but didn't quite do the 4000 for us. Nearly but not quite - or at least it wasn't quite the 4000 series that I remember. We also just don't need an SSL emulation here - what mixing we do here we tend to do via Neve hardware. Mastering wise, maybe the G buss comp but not the others. As an alternative to the G comp you might want to take a look at this. Not tried the Abbey Road plug-ins yet but have heard quite positive stuff about them. Ozone again is good VfM. We had a quick look at it back at version 3 but don't really need an all-in-one. Dither in Ozone is v good btw. A couple of other vsts that may be worth you looking at are: This LP EQ here - the IEQ Pro, Interesting pricing policy as well. Another good one for the price is this one from Melda The Stillwell plug-ins here - particularly Event Horizon and Rocket. That way it's focused on mastering rather than possibly falling between the two .Yeah, I agree Sonnox is pretty great I'd like some more of their plug-ins as well, but can't afford right now. But there are also cheaper alternatives that might do the job as well in my situation, so I'll see what I end up with in the end Haha, I tried to avoid it (usb dongles) as well for as long as I could, but it was futile  I know, the Inflator and TransMod are very delicate plug-ins. I can make the songs sound better with these, but also completely crush them so it's best to use them with caution. But in small doses, these are awesome I agree on waves as well, that's why I never bought them myself. I used the SSL collection while mixing/mastering the album I've talked about, because the drummer owned it Sounds pretty good though, but there are alternatives less expensive. Cytonic Glue looks amazing, thanks for sharing mate I'll be sure to check that out!! I can really vouch for the Abbey Road plug-ins, they are indeed very good! I have bought the Brilliance pack, and it really makes single tracks or full mixes shine (if used right, which is really simple) Will probably look into buying the rest of them as well, because of the impression the brilliance pack gave me! You should check them out. There are 30 days demo versions on their site Would be cool to hear your impression of them as well, as your ears are undoubtedly better than mine  I have Ozone 4, and it's a great tool for getting the job done "quickly" if you will. And I will continue to use it for some purposes, but not for a full master as I have better tools for that (I just need to learn more ).The EQ and Compressor from http://ddmf.eu is great, I already have it! And the pricing policy is amazing! I did pay a little extra as I really support people who does business like that Stillwell plug-ins I have heard great things about, and will be sure to check them out! I also visited the Algo site, and hopefully someday I can justify buying those plug-ins. As for now I really have to get better at mixing and mastering Have you tried URS plug-ins by the way? They have some decent plug-ins in my opinion, and I have two of them. I bought the URS FullTec and BLT EQ Bundle, and I'm really happy with the quality and sound of them. Abbey Road is kind of on a (very long) list of things to look at so at some time in the future we'll look at them
.We've looked at URS quickly in the past and they're good but generally we don't have much call for emulations here. However I've only ever heard good things about their Pultec stuff .A bit off topic but I know the guy (Paul) who designed and wrote the code for some of the Sonnox plugs long time ago. I think all the urs stuff are emulations of some well regarded hardware - I know there's also some Neve and some Trident stuff in there somewhere .Not sure what Paul is doing at the mo - I'll ask. He probably is as I don't think working for Sonnox made him a millionaire .
