One of the beauties with performing live is that You never knows what will happen. I've been doin some 1000 gigs (or maybe 2000, I really dont know...) and something strange always seems to happen. I have NEVER played a gig without at least some tiny struggle....... tongue.gif

So, as some of You may know I had my first gig in years the other day and want to share what happened this time. (thx. for the songs people, I really picked some of them up and Im still listening to some I havent heard yet. biggrin.gif )
In order to prepare I made a list of gear/important stuff to bring, but still I forgot spare strings - which I didn't need anyhow, but some else of course happen.

I've learned the following:
- Never try to buy some cables at a hifi-supermarket just before the gig. Eg. I forgot to switch off the lights on my car when going inside, so the battery was dead when I came back. And people were stressed, so I have to ask about 30 in order to get hold of someone with start-cables.....
- Dont bring Your new LP to a gig - because it wont stay in tune until it get played on enough...... (as can been seen in the second vid)
- But do bring Your daughter - she got 60€ from one of the guests for video-filming, I played for free.... laugh.gif
- Dont try to sing/play when a harmonica-player-wanna-be is blowing You right into the left ear.... (which can also been seen, the crazy guy to the right)

Besides that I realized that I finally have to shave, that I need a spare power unit for my lap-top (it broke after three songs, so only the first set got recorded properly.... sad.gif )

Otherwise it was really fun and worked out as expected - of course I played some wrong notes here & there as well as sang out of tune occasionally, but that was nothing unexpected.... tongue.gif

Clip 2 (with better sound)

Hahaa, Yeah, You've right... Its kinda rock'n'roll.... Nah, I wasn't really referring to the playing/singin (even that there are some notes out of tune due to my new LP, and I hate to be out of tune...) in the title, rather all OTHER things that always happens. I was thinking that maybe some younger players here who never hit the stage could learn something from it..... eg. how it really is.... biggrin.gif

Hmmm, a guitar lesson? On what topic? I had been thinking of doin a theory lesson on advanced jazz in the student-instructor area... (because I cant really play it, but pretty much knows the theory behind...) But I haven't got that far yet, right now Im writing some new reviews for the WIKI. But if there's something You wanna ask me about, just shoot man !!! smile.gif

Hehe, Yeah Kaz, I know a lot of the people there, and since it was kinda "good-bye"-party since the owner sold the pub (and he's a friend of mine) there was free drinks on everybody, so You can guess what it was like.... tongue.gif (I dont drink myself though I quitted it years ago....)

Teriffic show Staffay!! Especially Red House sounded so good.
To be performing with a band is one thing, to stand there alone putting on a show all by yourself is something else wink.gif

Thx. Micke! Yeah, I find it some way harder to perform by myself since You have no one to lean back on... but before I was used to it, I played about 4-5 hours by myself, doin all the singing by myself (that IS hard if You do it every night)....
