It makes a big difference sometimes if you sit down or stand up while playing, and it might end up to be a big mistake to only practice while sitting down, cause when you finally get to play your gig you won't sit on stage, will you? wink.gif
I always practice in both ways, some days I sit down, on other days I stand up, like this I am prepared for everything

I remember learning this one years ago. This is such interesting information, never knew Satriani performed this one sitting down when it came to solos biggrin.gif
Crazy stuff

I gotta admit, I always practice sitting down when I'm at home, but luckily in band rehearsals, I'm always standing up. We had a little debate about this in our last rehearsal, when the lead guitarist sat down on his amp and said: "Hmm, this is comfy and it's easier to play!" and our bass player said: "Yeah, but it's not good cause you gotta be used to play standing up."
I'll try to mix it from now on, when I practice at home.

Yeah, I can vouch for this little jem of information from personal experience.
Before I was fired from the last band I was in (although the following isn't why I was fired tongue.gif), I wrote a fair amount of solos at home as well as on the spot at the rehearsals.
Those that I wrote stood up at the rehearsal, although they were a bit spontaneous and needed some adjustments later, were much more forthcoming and easier to play. Whereas, I remember one solo in particular, I wrote sat down in the comfort of my room and it sounded awesome (if I do say so myself).. but I was horrified when I came to demo it in front everyone at the following rehearsal - I couldn't play it; I just couldn't stretch to reach the notes!
and I looked like such a fool sad.gif
