I am still having fun and learning more than ever but I am still stuck at the same darn stuff that I am getting very discouraged, I must admit. Maybe I am too darn old to be wanting to master all speeds.
The problem is with me and I am sure many players is this........
I can play a 16th note 3 string pattern pretty darn clean up to about 98. I can also play the same pattern pretty clean at 120 maybe even cleaner. But dammit I can not play it at all anywhere in between and I mean not at all, sounds like a beginner just beating the thing up.
Even in the lesson you guys play the patterns at a decent speed and then you rip the frets off. It even looks like two different styles of playing. Kris, your picking hand looks somewhat different when playing fast.
I have to almost insist on a lesson about this subject as it is the barrier that almost everyone who plays never gets over. Sure they can play great fast and slow but it is the between part that gets left out. And the big question is, does the in between speeds really even exists at all?
After all I am getting some satisfaction from seeing how clean my faster playing is becoming because it is getting much better. And I owe that to the hours of 98 and less picking.

Please kris, pavel and who ever can help, please do. Before I just go fishing.

I just want a shoulder to cry on, OK? sad.gif

As I wrote this I had a tiny brain storm and created the following mp3. I have decided that this is the only way I may break this cycle for me personally.
It is a metronome beat that starts at 70 and ends up at 200, it increases 2 on every first count, works really well with eighth notes and I am going to make one that increase by 1 every 4 count to work on sixteenth notes. I feel this may be a big help to everyone.
