Hey Guys,
I haven't been posting much lately but been practicing a lesson which I will record soon. I am gathering energy to challenge myself and trying one impossible lesson (at least for me at this point) and see if I can get this in 2 or even 6 months. My current speed level is 130bpm and this one is at 170bpm. It can take a year or never achievable who knows but I will have something to practice apart from other lessons.  So, apart from starting slowing and gradually building speed what else should I be considering to reach this level? https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/legato...cking_advanced/ I know its too ambitious but I believe this can be achievable at some point. Cheers!! I will keep updating unless my fingers get whacked and be unable to type.

You are doing all the right things. You've set goals and clearly identified 'measurable' (bpms) milestones. I am sure you will see progress in no time. Building up speed is one of my goals as well and I'll keep an eye on your progress for motivation and inspiration.
Antoher thing you will need lots of is support from your family.. as this WILL require a lot of hours. It will take a lot of hard work and your wife might hate you (and your guitar) a little bit more but I'm sure you can handle it .. To win her support, you can try proposing an idea for a gift for her once you reach 170bpm  Goodluck bro .. The only advice that I can give you is the one you already know - work hard, be patient and accurate and speed will come in time. That's really the truth. It's definitely more of a psychological thing that physical, becasue we have the endure in the metronome battle

This is a very good plan! Its imporatant to set goals that are withing reach and gradually rise the stakes. That way you will have insight into your progress and don't get discouraged. Its one step at a time that always works wonders...

Just to add, I have been setting goals so I could improve. I started out with level 3 lessons and that even was hard for me then. I then gradually tried out level 4, then 5 and now 6. I even tried 7 but it wasn't that good. Now, I am trying to jump to level 9 and faster licks because even if I can't do it, I will at least be able to play level 7 or 8 lessons then 9 will eventually come. Sshhh... that was my secret. I thought the same when I was going for some very difficult solos. Even if you take 2 bars a day that still means you'll make it in a month or two. But the good thing is when you finally make it every other one will become easier.
