That's a great valve amp for rock and blues, ask the guy if the valves are in good condition though, if they need changing it will cost some extra bucks once you get it.

I have this amp, and it really rocks! The clean channel is great, and so is the drive-channel, but only for blues and rock as Fran said. As stated in the post at Ebay, it is a very loud amp. I have never had the volume knob past 2 for home-use, and the volume goes all the way to 12. I have a multi-effect board in front of the amp, and that sounds amazing too. I have owned the amp for a year now, and i have never experienced any problems. But ask the guy who is selling it, how old the tubes are smile.gif

I tried one recently, and it's a nice amplifier. The cleans are awesome, but I didn't like the drive channel that much, the bass was a bit flabby and it lacked grit in the middle frequencies. It handles pedals pretty well though.

At a school I went to there used to be two of those, and I thought they were quite good, but quite limited and not so versatile. I don't really think it's for metal and in that end of the genres, but if you're into rock, blues, jazzy stuff I think it would be quite good.

I own one of those too, as most of You may know by now... laugh.gif I must say that since I got it fixed with NOS-tubes and some small adjustments it sounds smashing, I don't really like the Eminence speaker though, but I have a Weber that gonna replace this one in order to get a smoother attack. But thats a personal matter, I think.

Cael is right here, its not very versatile - in itself its just good for blues/rock and maybe some jazz, but on the other hand there is no compromises - hence, it sounds like a Fender amp shall sound, and You will never get that from another brand - unless You are going for a boutiqe hand-made sort of stuff... And I think its fully possible to even play some metal on this one, provided that You put the right pedals in front of it. I had mine in some 15 years by now, and I can't be any happier with it than now. (then of course, I have some other amps for other purposes as well....)

I love mine, but as mentioned it is a pretty loud amp, I never have played it past 4 on the volume knob at home. Great blues/country/classic rock tones IMO.. but yeah probably not so good for metal and heavy stuff.

It's a great amp, so great I considered buying it because of it's cherry clean. The distortion didn't get too me that much tho, but you may like that kind of overdrive. It's not tight, but it's rich. Put some good tubes that break up soon, and good speakers, and you got yourself a hot rodded Fender that will really serve you nicely.
