I have the option of selling my flextone II XL (2 x 50 W stereo ). If I do this, I will be 100 bucks away from purchasing this:

http://www.guitarcenter.com/Bugera-V22-22W...992-i1470775.gc

I saw someone playing it in the store. I want a nice tube amp with a good power section for gain and I would love a clean sound aswell.

I want to spend under 500 dollars american. So, If I get 200 for my flextone II...What options do you recommend.

Mind you, I want this for home recording and an occasional gig.

a tube amp is always a step up bro!, but maybe 22wats will be a lil small to gig in a big club or something like that, maybe something a lil bit bigger?

Suggestions?

I know this has been beat to death in another foreign. I want a nice Brit-High gain tone. Something that can fill a small club if necessary. I dont want to spend more than 400-600 dollars US. The last amps I played and love where the Bogner Alchemist (way too expensive) and JCM 800 (which I also cannot afford)

Marshall tone is great for me I guess but only if it quality and i dont want my combo amp to be limited.

God, this is a tough decision because I will be selling the amp before I am able to replace it

The amp is the most important part of you tone, don't buy something just for the sake of getting something new!

I would rather save and play my old amp a little longer to get a high quality amp that I really like then wasting my money on something I am not 100% happy with!

+1

And to go a step further, I would rather have a high quality amp and lower quality guitar than the other way around. Definitely worth it to save for an amp you will use and enjoy for a long time.

Sounds like I am going to wait for the 40 W alchemist then, it is $899, then I need to buy a cabinet. lol. Hopefully I can find something lucky on craigs list someday.

FYI, might be a long shot, but I am trying to get rid of a Mesa boogie f-50 head (similar to the f-30 I use, but with 6l6 tubes instead of el84, both awesome amps) and cab. I've been trying to get rid of it for ages it seems. I don't know what shipping would be (fairly heavy items) but Florida isn't too far. I could cut you a steal of a deal on a really nice amp. Would be less than the Bogner, and I would reckon it would sound at least as good if not better.

If you've gotta have Marshall, well, you've gotta have it. I absolutely love the sound of the Vintage Modern, and it's a decently priced head too. But I think a lot of amps these days can do a similar sound for less.

Dunno, perhaps it is better to save some money for a better all tuber, or get a hybrid combo.

Which amp is not all tube? I thought the Bugera 22w is all tube.

It is, I gave a suggestion to possibly save some money and get a "better all tube amp" (better than Bugera) of similar power, or a hybrid.
