Well it is a Gibson Les Paul Standard AND a signature Model and it costs 2199 Euros at my local store:

http://www.musik-schmidt.de/Gibson-Les-Pau...uction-AMB.html

Normal LP standards cost about the same so I don't see how this is overpriced (unless you think Gibsons are generally overpriced^^)
Funny fact about this particular Signature Guitar:
This is a copy of the guitar Slash used to record the Appetite for Destruction BUT that was the first GnR record so he didn't even have the money to buy a real Gibson!! The guitar he used was a Gibson Les Paul Copy!!!! So this thing is a copy of a copy...

Gibson always puts ridiculously high prices on their website - They don't represent the street price!

For Example they put the price for an Explorer on 2399$ while it only costs 1399$ in any store! It might also be possible that there is a limited run of this Slash signature guitar made in the Custom shop that has a real autograph by Slash on it... then it might be 4000$.

Yeah, You're right here Zakk (as always smile.gif ) I recently read his biography, but what is more stunning is that he still is alive, after all that junk he have put in his body. It was really some scary reading, and I encourage all Young players to read it in order to understand what NOT to do.

Generally Gibsons are all overpriced to me, No matter the model laugh.gif

Still it looks good, and as with any gibsons, probably sounds great.

Never been a big fan of signiture guitars think its a little tacky.

But yes over priced as most Gibsons are.

Very nice guitar, and I also agree, the price that is given on the website is definitely not the street price, that should be lower for sure. I didn't play this one (yet wink.gif ) but I have the Slash Signature Goldtop Les Paul, and that one is a very nice guitar (I think I will use it for one of my next lessons, didn't use it here on GMC yet). And I am also pretty sure that those signature Les Pauls are limited, at least I don't see that Gold Top anywhere on the Gibson page anymore, so I guess it is not available anymore. About the price in general, well, a Gibson is not cheap, but in my humble opinion it is worth it, but thats a matter of taste of course, there are many people that would prefer those slim Ibanez necks for example (and I hate them smile.gif ). And just to make this clear, I am not talking here as the Gibson endorser that I am, trying to advertise the company, I am talking as a Gibson fan, after all I also have quite a few Les Pauls that I bought before I became an endorser, paid with my own money, and I never regretted it wink.gif

Oh man we have too many Gibson lovers in GMC!!!

Hmm, I always wanted to buy a gibson to add to my collection, good they launched this one, may be i will get it. Its listed for less than 3000$ on Guitar center website.

But, the funny thing is that I just got a guitar two days ago and it will arrive on 1st of April.

I found this darling yesterday and fell in love. It's way out of my price range though.
