Oh man we have too many Gibson lovers in GMC!!!

Hmm, I always wanted to buy a gibson to add to my collection, good they launched this one, may be i will get it. Its listed for less than 3000$ on Guitar center website.

But, the funny thing is that I just got a guitar two days ago and it will arrive on 1st of April.

woaaa, what's that new guitar wink.gif?

7 String Explorer is indeed a really cool idea but with the 24.5 scale length you will need a reeaaaaaaaaaaaaaally fat string for the low b!

Well!! I dont want to do injustice to a gibson thread by talking about another company. But, I intend to put up some pictures once it arrives.

Hehehe, don't worry guys, nobody will have to die, I will use that Gold Top for one of my next lessons wink.gif And that Explorer looks nice, though I am not a big fan of 7 String guitars, I am a bit old fashioned when it comes to the amount of strings I guess ;-) I also can't really imagine how big the neck of that guitar must be, considering that a normal Gibson has a thick neck already... And about that passion among Gibson lovers, well, in my case it is just that I completely fell in love with Les pauls when I bought my first one. I always liked the looks a lot, also loved the sound, but when I bought my first Les Paul Custom I was immediately hooked, it just felt absolutely perfect for me, there was nothing I would change or improve, it was as if that guitar was made for me smile.gif But I guess you will find the same kind of love among Fender lovers as well, or PRS or whatever.

So this thing is a copy of a copy...

It certainly is mate!!!
From what I remember from an interview with him from 20+ years ago his was a Lawsuit Era (can't remember which manufacturer) copy of a 59 LP.

Also soon to be released is a copy of the Marshall 100W JCM2203 that Slash used on 'Appetite'. It's going to be called the AFD100. As well as that, Symour Duncan are now producing the 'Slash Signature Alnoco II' P/Up, which is basically a slightly refined APH-1 and tries to replicate the Tone of that original LP Copy!

It is a copy of a copy. In german Guitar Mag there is an interview with him that I just read last night and he talks about it. He recorded Appetite with that copy of a 59 Les Paul, and this new signature Les Paul is an exact copy of that copy smile.gif

I checked it out in Frankfurt on Saturday and I have to say it is a very nice guitar, the only thing that would bother me is the Slash Logo on the headstock, at least thats the only thing bothering me on my Slash Gold Top wink.gif
