That's great!

My parents didn't play anything and my kids never took an interest in music other than listening to it. I'm hoping I can get a grandkid that wants to play. laugh.gif

My father taught me to play guitar when I was 11 years old and I used to watch him play with his oldies coverband. Too bad he can't see me on stage with my oldies coverband...I'm sure he'd be proud.
It's always a great thing to learn from your parents! Nice video.

Very...very cool. Cherish this time and let your dad know how much you enjoy it. I never played guitar with dad but we did a lot of other things..mainly golfing and fishing and those memories are some of the best I have. We usually do not know how great something is while we are experiencing it.. we realize it later. My advice would be to do your best to acknowledge how awesome it is to be able to do this with your dad and make the most of it.

Cheers~
Gary

Man, that looks like a lot of fun. You guys should jam as often as you can, and keep it fun.

My parents didn't play instruments but at least they both loved music enough that there was always something good playing in the house. Pop loved the old rock & roll, motown, soul music, etc, while Mom always played classical & jazz stations on the kitchen radio.

By the way, you might want to look up the term "alternate picking" and check out some lessons on that.

My Dad doesn't have the passion for guitar like me. He plays the acoustic guitar, and I rock out the electric. My brother plays the piano. I have no one to jam with. Enjoy your time with your Dad as much as you can - just like everybody is saying.

laugh.gif He could be in the same band as my mother then!!! My dad played the Trumpet, so I had to play 50's jazz standards with him, bit that was like 20 years ago. Now he passed away, but I still have some old tapes lying around. Its just that fun to jam with the family!!! smile.gif
