I have a chance to pick up this Ibanez Prestige RG1570. It is used, and has some small dings but no fret wear. I think it was played very little. I am not thrilled about the color, but that is secondary to how it plays. What do you think the guitar should sell for? I know impossible to say for sure by pictures, but if everything is as it seems...what would you pay for it?

Ben

That is a very nice guitar. The pickups aint bad but if ya don't like em you can swap...but they are decent pups...I like these V's better than the IBZ's you commonly see stock on some of the Prestige RG's. The Edge Pro trem is as good as any Floyd...or maybe better. The neck is fast! Tuning stability is great!!

I'd offer 500 and not pay a dollar more. They retail brand new for around a gran. It's a Prestige model so it's gonna be a nice axe. It's gots some dings. I think it's 3-4 years old. The case is worth 40 bucks.

Now that I have my strat...and my Jackson - I am actually looking for a trem again! tongue.gif

I know, I know...I hate trems, but with this one, I won't ever have to change tunings since I have the other two already!

You will need new pickups - it is a crime to build a guitar as good as this one and put cheapo pickups in it! Shame on you Ibanez!

+1, those pickups are really bad, i mean those are usable, not like the squier ones or something, but are bad pickups.

The guys are right about the pickups sadly. I've got an RG560 and the pickups don't do it justice at all. But if you are not gigging out right away, they will get you buy until you find something to replace them with. You may have to add a bit more gain for the time being. That guitar is something of a shredder classic and the necks on that vintage were quite nice. Very fast.

I've got an RG1570 with those pickups. I had to replace the bridge pickup because it was really bad, so I put in the tone zone from dimarzio. I quite like the neck pickup though.

I bought one almost identicle for 350GBP, which is what like 550 dollars?

It's a great guitar, I got it as a sort of workhorse guitar. They're perfect for that, because you pick any one of these up off a shelf and they all feel the same and play great. Where-as I find although strats are really nice, if you pick up 2 different strats they can feel worlds apart. However, if you buy one of these, you know exactly what you're getting.

Been using it for about 7/8 months now, can't fault it smile.gif I'd definantly get one of these again if I needed a new one. Or an S series, I really fancy one of those now, grrrr!

Did you know that they get their live sound from the distortions on the boss gt6/8/10 floor boards through clean amps, which sounds horrible but makes switching sounds more convenient?!?
