I totally agree with you, Ivan.

I've seen this guy on youtube before, there is a definite improvement in his technique, and his vibrato and phrasing is much better.

Technique is not all of course, but this is the way you can develope your own style. I bet he will be a great guitar player with his own style in 10-15 years!

Yeah, now I remember, there were some videos before, and now I've checked them out, the young player is really trying hard. I think that's a very positive thing smile.gif

I see you found 'Anton Oparin' the young Russian Shredder. I've heard him before, pretty good.
Played in the comps with his dad when age 8. He speeds though some RacerX and the crowd went crazy.

That's because they sit in their room all day, playing it out rather than wasting all their time running round, bouncing off walls.

As support of my position that there is little correlation between what some kid is doing in early puberty, and what he will become as an adult, I present a 14 year old who was going to find the cure for cancer.....

Arr, blocks my poor ears, that 14 year old Jimmy Page, is a terrible player. I sure hope he finds a cure for cancer, because his guitar playing sure won't be going anywhere!

I think he looks like he's having a great time, but concentrating hard.

In this vid, he's definitely getting his groove and might be a better indicator of his future, although as was said above, what's he going to do with all this technique besides play other peoples music?

Also I was kind of shocked by the comment that said this song is normally played with top 3 strings in octaves of D and he's playing in standard tuning. Wow!

I always feel kind of damped down when I see a nine-year-old shredding Paul Gilbert's songs. However, I also find it inspirational, and many times it boosts my own training. We can all be, and most of us are, really jealous at these guys.

But the fact that they're great players or that they have a great technique doesn't mean that we couldn't play awesome licks someday, too. smile.gif

Tommy Emmanuel and his brother Phil used to tour as kids. The cover of their collab album " Terra Firma" has a shot of them from childhood touring days.

There are so many technical shredders on youtube but after a while it all sounds the same. If the music doesn't 'feel' then who cares how good you are? Whether it's fun, anger, joy, depression, whatever...emotion is what music is about.
