I waws instaling pod farm and when i the satrted my Pod xt the sound coming from the computer through the pod sounded very strange. i tried just about everythjing and i was pretty sure that it was a harddrive error. Yesterday i took out my Toneport GX and noticed that it was the same on that.......

i have tried reinstalling everything that have to do with line 6 and i have tried a different USB cable(brand new) but nothing worked...

Anyone know what i can do

Hmm this IS strange indeed. So when you setup in control panel your Toneport GX as primary sound driver/card for playback in Windows and then connect the speaker to Toneport - sound doesn't come right? How does it sound can you describe it? Anyway, what I would do is uninstall all Line6 drivers you might have. Remember to back up your patch tones. Then install a clean install of drivers. I'm guessing that there is some driver incompatibility issue going on since problems started AFTER you installed Pod Farm...

Are you getting a processed signal from the XT and then processing it again in podfarm? That would be a potentially bad sound indeed.

Could you describe (or upload a sample of) the strangeness that you're hearing? It would go a long way towards solving the problem.

All I can think of is uninstall everything (drivers, pod farm, gearbox etc etc), reboot, reinstall everything in order starting with line 6 monkey, drivers, firmware, pod farm for one of the pods, then check, then the software for the other.

If it still fails, I'd suggest you ask at Line 6 boards, there are many helpful savvy guys there smile.gif

best of luck mate!

Also: A simple computer reboot and checking your speakers with normal music just in case (withot the pod, you never know). Also check that the pod is detected properly by the computer as sound card. Check the guitar & guitar cables too. You never know.

What's it sound like with headphones straight into the POD XT?

If that's fine then:

What programs are you running on your computer when the sound is NOT fine?

I'm pretty sure this is a problem with drivers. You should go to add/remove programs and try to delete everything that has to do with the drivers/pod software etc...And then doing the clean install...

Does the PC has some other intergrated or third party audio card? If so, try disabling it completely from control panel/device manager (or if you use newer version on Windows, in it's hardware manager).
