i wont do it cause i love my guitar finishes and i don't think a plastic coat is too good for tone BUT 5 years ago i probably have done it, i think it is a pretty clever idea, specially if you wanna try crazy designs smile.gif

It seems kinda silly but a nice idea if you want to try some designs how they work on your guitar before doing the real thing. I personally stick to factory finish I buy the guitar with (I choose the one I like then) smile.gif

I wouldn't do it. Adding another material like that will no doubt affect your guitars sound. Kinda like adding an extra "layer" of wood, only it being plastic instead.

But who knows, one might like the new tone better?

That almost looks like someone is dressed up in plastic - doesn't feel or look natural smile.gif Nice idea, but as Adrian said, I think it doesn't do wood justice. But then again, not all people prefer same things, so this may be cool for someone that wants to experiment on short-term basis. smile.gif
