Why not have extra strings on hand?

I'm going to try the "I broke a string so I need another guitar" line on my wife. Hope it works! Thanks for the idea smile.gif

Well, I don't know why, but I haven't broken a string in 10 years - always used to be the E string on my electric and the D string on my classical but not any longer. I guess as I grow old my strength is failing me and I can't hit them as hard ...

I ALWAYS have extra strings O_o and I ALWAYS keep my old strings for situations like this, unless they broke smile.gif Just buy 2-3 packs of strings then you're saved if something should break smile.gif

I break the string once every 3 months. Usually it's E string. And D for acoustics is a very common thing.
