I have two Strats and thats it so I wondered about putting two seymour duncan hot rails in the bridge and neck for rock and metal type stuff or just part chop it in and get a rock guitar with humbuckers. Obviously cost wise I would prefer to replace the pickups.
Any advice would be very welcome.
Thank you and regards Tony

The hotrails aren't really enough for some serious metal, maybe for metal solos in the neck but not as a bridge (stacked) humbucker.

You can either put a fullsize humbucker into one of your strats or go for a new guitar instead.

I would recommend some higher output Dimarzio full size humbuckers in both bridge and neck on one Strat, if you want to turn it into rock/metal axe. If one of your Strats is dated after 2000, it should have pre-drilled cavities for full-sized humbuckers. You just need a new pickguard and pickups, which is not expensive.

Hi Ivan,
Thanks, I've seen your Strat with I think the JB Junior and you seem to get a good sound out of that.
At the moment I'm still mulling over what to do.
Cheers for everyone's input, it does make a difference to one's decision.
Tony
