Hello, I want to suggest a good idea for a lesson which is barely covered here to my knowledge. I think there could be more lessons on scale sequences and cool licks, like a lesson just covering that stuff. More so on 7 tone scales (harmonic minor, minor, which i normally use) or even 6, 5, or 8 tone scales. I know sequences and licks are thrown into some of the lessons hidden inside etudes but not so much as the topic of the lesson. I know its good to create your own licks and sequences, but the more licks and sequences i can learn from others the better, so we can have a bigger arsenal of licks and sequences for our lead guitar playing. Anyone let me know what you think about this idea.

I dont really agree here. I think there are tons of cool licks, runs and techniques here. Have You tried browsing "In the style of..." -lessons or the lessons on level 8,9 and 10?? At least they will keep me occupied for the rest of my life..... tongue.gif
And the good thing is that the lessons are played in a musical context rather than just firing off a lick with no reference.

I agree this site has defintely helped me, learn some cool licks and such, but its not really the topic of the lesson, i think teachers could go into more detail on the subject, i've tried in the style of also which their is some good stuff

Oki, I get the point You guys are saying here, even that I never found any practical use for pre-determined licks in my playing, I guess thats why I never will be a shredder either.... laugh.gif

But an interesting point here is that if there should be lessons on "Signature" -licks by certain players - what about the copyright on licks??? If they are played out of a song-context, are there really a copyright on licks? I don't believe so, but I dont really know....

sounds like you might have enough knowledge to add some yourself over some of the tracks you might like
I encourage you to try to replace licks in some of the lessons you might have learned

I see what you mean. Let me recommend "Mastering Diatonic Patterns" pair of lessons from me, here they are:

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/master...n_caged_method/

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/master...string_method_/

both methods cover the same scale/pattern that is the basic note range you can find in diatonic theory. There are no licks, but if you learn the whole pattern it will be much easier to learn (and know where to use them) later on. Let us know if you have any questions, we are glad to help you.

If you are referring to a type of lesson that covers library of licks using a certain scale then yeah it may be a very interesting lesson topic. Though bear in mind that you can learn those licks right now too, just dissect from lessons you like - your favorite licks/patterns and see in which scale they are etc... Every solo lesson here is filled with awesome licks. And only good way to get good at improv is to learn as much as you can of those, so you can modify/reuse them at will...
