> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson here: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Melodic_Metal_Solo/
Difficulty: Level 2

Disregard the second take in the video when you grade. That was just for fun. Original one for grading is the first take.

Olympus Stylus Tough 6000 Camera

Jackson SLSMG > Boss ME 20 > Vox VT 30

You are hearing it straight from the amp. Line-in cable hooked from headphone jack in VT30 to the computer's mic input. (Used my little Ibanez amp for my monitor.)

Used Audacity for DAW.

I liked it!

I would use more bends, and play the strings harder with the pick,

awesome man! the second part made my day smile.gif
about the first take: pay attention on timing, I know this lesson is so slow and it's not that easy, but you have to focus on to play every note in its place. anyway, you have improved a lot on this take and that's why my grade was an 8 smile.gif
about the second... AWESOME! wink.gif

Very nice take!
I agree with Lian and for me just a little more work on some bends and left hand vibrato and it's a perfect take. Good job!
