I saw this on a twitter feed and I have not tried it but for those who need a free video editor the screenshots look pretty good. Avidemux is the name and here is the link. http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/

I"ve started a thread full of links to all sorts of killer free software and I've added this one to it! Great find! Here is the link to the thread. It's got plugins, audio, video software, etc. Enjoy!.

That's a cool free software I installed it once and tried it. Works good. It was some older version and I needed it for some conversion I think, but didn't tried the editing. I think it has a bit limited possibilities. But, it's free so it's well made for a free product. However, Vegas Movie Studio Platinum is around 60$, and it's awesome for the buck.

Ivan has a great point here. SONY VEGAS is a killer product and well worth checking out. For the price, it is impossible to beat the power it brings to bear. Very flexible, fast, etc. The VEGAS demo is free to try and well worth a look.
