Well, I have been using powertab for 5 or more years now. The fact it is free is it's biggest advantage. I feel in love with powertab the first time I type a measure of music. By far the most useful learning tool I have ever used. However, That was until I bit the bullet and paid for guitarpro5 the other day and I now have a new love. I am not saying run out and buy it but it was well worth the cash and I am glad I did. If you do get it be sure your computer is up to par, it takes a decent computer to work probably.

I agree, Guitar Pro 5 is a great program and a great tool for learning. The RES sound engine is very good.

Yes. I agree Guitar Pro is where it is at. When I first started playing I knew nothing and some friend taught me to read tab (difficult eh? hehehehe).

Well needless to say my Guitar Pro tab collection grew to a little over 50,000 and it came in handy as a way to get me started.

I'm an extremist smile.gif

Yeah it's a bit of overkill but it's nice because when my mood changes I can find just about song I want to learn to play.
