It's hot outside...37 degrees on the sun...i'm holding my guitar and play'n one of 20 songs that I know...for 1000 jubilee time...i can't stand it anymore...typin www.guitarmasterclass.com in adress bar and here I am.
That would be "cut to the chace" story why I registered today.
Hello to you all, my name is Slaven, 29 year old from Croatia, playin at my home for myself.
I always loved that apothegm which say"" I told my parents that when I grew up I wanted to be a musician. They said it had to be one or the other".
Well, I today decide that I'll be child for 3 more months...69$ poorer child but hell with the money. wink.gif
Playin guitar for almost 10 years now but what a rubish playin it was...learning songs but never really understanded whats behind it. My music theory was horribly..to be honest still is actually.
Pentatonic scale was/ is something from Star wars for me, what notes makes G chords is million dolar question and if I had to find "E" note on 3 string I probably have to take GPS with me.
Can play "Sweet child of mine", "Johnny be good", Chet Atkins "Starry starry night" fingerstyle version, some Metallica riff's but if you want some improvisation or some my own melody over backingtrack...well sorry guys to disappoint you but I don't know that.
Till now! I'm here to learn all this! Yeah baby! cool.gif
Hope to find that little push over the edge which will help me to expand my poor knowledge, find now inspiration for guitar playin cause "Nothing else matters" is fun to play 1-2 year...10 year is longish period for that "pam pam pam pam pam pam" intro.
My gear: I have Blade RH2 electric, Marshall 8040 Valvestate amp and Washburn D34S Augusta acoustic.
Very happy with it except that amp maybe but like I always say: "Whenever I think about how I could spent some money on better amp because I deserve better I plug in guitar and play for 1 minute...that thought disappear instantly."
Also, I always listen all kind of music ( Rock, metal, pop, country, acoustic instrumentals, classic music ).
Why wouldn't I learn how to play it? If not all, as much as I can.
If i must isolate one guitar player that I admire the most that would be Mark Knopfler...He can play honky tonk just like anything. wink.gif Great musician.
Well I hope this is not to long introduction, you now know me better than half of my neighbors. tongue.gif
I'm going on 3 month pissing blood drill, hope i'll surive, find the holly grail and pay for more of it.
Cheers to all.

Run, run while you still can! aww man... your addicted now too!

Welcome to GMC, my name is Aaron and I'm a Guitar-o-holic ('Hey Aaron')
Saying you have a problem is your first step!

I had my first taste of guitar when I was about five or six,
When I was thirteen, I started to experiment with guitar again.
I found out immediately that I had a much higher tolerance than any of my friends (they couldn't stand my playing).
became hooked on the heavy rock/metal stuff when 13-14.

I feel this place hasn't helped my addiction issues at all but have made them 20x worst!
It's become a daily basis addiction. I still continued to take massive quantities of music, but this time the good stuff.
(rather than my parents closing the door yelling to turn it down, they listen)
It's gotten so bad, I've even ended up on the street (busking and getting handed money)

It's painful, and scary, and my first instinct is to run away. But we can never really run away.
Whatever the future holds, I want to be able to face it as the man I know I can be.
I feel I'm going to end joining other 'users' and go out into the public (band on stage performing live)
I know the chicks will love me and I'll be rolling in money, but hey where did that all come from!

DON"T DO DRUGS! laugh.gif

Thank you all for warm welcome.
Today was first day of school and I survive. I forgote my lunch box, some bullys throw some strange words at me like "Phrygian" and "Lydian" but I survive. cool.gif
Yesterday I cruise through forum, searchin for some starting point and I came across this guide from Alexiaden93. (post# 54)
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...st&p=451092
For now I'm takin this as my schedule:
10 minutes of Warming Up with Marcus Siepen
20 minues browsing and learning about scales
10 minutes one of Danilo Capezzuto's series (Finger Independence, Hands Synchronization, Right Hand Basics)
20 minutes PATH OF POPULARITY in order as it was writen, from level 2 to 6
If theres any will left for playin I'l play nothing else matters and other 19 songs I know. wink.gif
Later I'l throw in some of the TECHNIQUES videos in schedule.
Hope my choice is OK ?

I'm planing doin it all from the scratch and then see were it will take me.
Never had a schedule before, always takin a guitar, playin for half an hour/hour some songs and thats it. I'l try leavin this bad habit behind me.
Thanks once more for your welcome and God, if you reading this, please help me through this valley of the shadow of death. smile.gif
