Hello everybody, just subscribed here as a member.

First of all sorry for the sloppy english.

I have been playing for 3 years now and i think im about a level 3 to 5.
I have been playing completely by ear and feel.
The main reason i subscribed here i want to learn more about notes and chords.
I am looking for lessons that can help me with that, if anybody has any ideas?

Example, if I play a chord, and i want to play a solo on that, how do i know what notes to play? I have done it now by ear, but i know theres a whole system of scales behind it, if anbody has any good lessons i can find here please help me out!

Thank you for your time and effort!

Hi there & welcome to GMC!
About chords you can check the new series Beginner's corner or Basic chords.

To understand the relationship between chords, scales, modes, etc.. you can check Andrew's theory board as a first step!

You can check out some of my workshop lessons. just type "chord workshop" , "mastering diatonic pattern", or "arpeggio workshop" in search. I recommend that you go through chord workshop lessons first.

Hi Vandammes, welcome to GMC!

Points at all the 'KILLER' instructors, you best avoid him, him and him... your head might explode from theory or arm fall off from picking! haha laugh.gif
There's seriously some good instructors each seems to vary depending on what your after, some do techniques and practices, other do a lot of theory and music apprecation. If you play by ear, you might want to dive into the theory. wink.gif

Look around, search for stuff and anything you can't find or have question about, ask anyone and everyone! They are all friendly enough to help.
