Hi guys!

Let's share what was your first guitar you ever touched/played. I'm sure we'll get some interesting answers smile.gif

For me it was unnamed classical guitar in very bad shape. Ready for scrappy smile.gif

Few months later I had a first contact with electric guitar and I was like WOW - soft strings, cool sound smile.gif It was a Jolana branded electric guitar that belonged to my friend wink.gif

What are your experiences ?

Mine was an electric Oakland ZX1200 that I still use until today, you can see it some of my Rec-takes.
I got the Oakland guitar from my father when I was 11 or 12 and wanted to learn how to play guitar. He first got the guitar in the 70ies and I got some old pictures at home where he plays this guitar with his band back then. Even though my Dad died 7 years ago, this guitar and the fact that I can play guitar myself will always remind me of him.

My first was a cheap crappy chinese classical, think I bought in a clothing store?!? Man, it was bad.. I remember that the action was so bad like over 1cm over the 12th fret or something. It was impossible to tune either. My first electric was a Jolana too! smile.gif Pretty bad thou.. First one, the acoustic one, was smashed by my brother in a stupid fight over something, heh can't even remember what.

Ovation ultra deluxe accoustic, crappy set up, rounded back, always slid of my lap, hurt my hand and fingers all the time. I should have got the B.C Rich warlock instead... I would played a lot more and enjoyed it more too...

Technically my first guitar I owned/touched was a very miniature nylon string acoustic. That thing was tiny, I had it when I was probably 3 years old.

My first real guitar I got for Christmas when I was about 11 years old. It was an Austin electric guitar, with a dark green/turquoise finish and a rosewood neck. (Man did that guitar suck!) haha, but it was where I got my start!

Oh yeah I played it into a Marshall G10 Mk.II amp:

Thanks mom and dad!

Rickenbacker.
I don't remember the model. I sort of wish I still had it even though the bridge was set high above the body. Like 1/2" or a little more. It had single coils which I replaced with Dimarzio hum-buckers and bolted them right to the body.

Technically, I started on a classical guitar of my little brother's. I played it acoustic style. But a month later I bought my first electric.
So the first guitar I OWNED was not the first I played, but here it is. I still have it, and it's tuned to drop Bb. smile.gif

I still voted "Classical guitar" since I played on it first. happy.gif

My first guitar was a pretty decent acoustic. My first guitar teacher let me borrow one of her guitars when I first started, so my parents didn't have to shell out any money if I decided to quit. So about a year later, my guitar teacher had a friend who is absolutely amazing at guitar, especially acoustic, and he picked out my first guitar for me. I still don't know how much it cost, but I still have it and it is a really nice Fender Acoustic.

Shortly thereafter, I played my friends Gibson SG and I fell in love with the electric guitar. I saved up my money and got a Fender Squier Strat, which was my first electric. I still have that one and it is heavily modified. Maybe I'll do a lesson using it someday.
