Whats Your Favorite Vigilante Movie?

My favorite vigilante of all time has to be "Falling Down" with Micheal Douglas. If you're a male living in the United States, you have to have sympathy for the main character. In fact if you live in any country I'm sure you can relate to the character in the movie. If you don't know what I'm talking about, watch the movie and it'll all make sense.

Do you know any good vigilante movies that you recommend watching? It doesn't have to be in English, just as long as it has English subtitles I'll gladly watch it.

Another great vigilante movie that I highly recommend is "Harry Brown" with Michael Caine. He plays a 70 year old ex-marine that hands out justice vigilante style in the projects of London. Whats cool is his role is realistic - you don't see a 70 year old man doing flips and jumping out of helicopters, he really plays the role of an old man.

The Iron Maiden song "Man On The Edge" is based on the movie "Falling Down", so keep that in mind while listening to the lyrics smile.gif

Edit: If you haven't seen the movie don't watch the ending of this clip, it kinda gives away the ending of the movie, sorry sad.gif

'The Dark Knight' maybe or 'V for Vendetta'?
I can't say vigilante is a movie genre I would pick out on, so haven't thought about it much. They are only ones that pop into my head.
Haven't seen those movies above 'Falling down' and 'Harry Brown' - curious about Iron Maiden though.

Haha, I loved Falling down. that was such a fun movie to watch. As for me, I share the same last name as Paul Kersey, so my vote by default has to be Death Wish.

Yeah - 'The Dark Knight' is the later batman movie and a darker batman pc game.

I might have to check out that 'Falling Down' movie since so many think it's good. smile.gif

"Falling Down" is one my favorites too. It left me sad because all he wanted to do was be with his family, and thats what I'm all about.

There is a distinct and egregious lack of "The Crow" answers in this thread. Note: not the sequels, just that first film.

Agreed! I love that movie. Soundtrack is excellent too with NiN Dead Souls cover & The Cure's Burn.

Falling Down is definitely a classic, but perhaps more so is Taxi Driver.
I'd categorise The Crow as more of a revenge film than vigilante but still an iconic film.. and talking of revenge films.. Oldboy.

Falling Down is such an excllent choice...! I love the golf course bit, '..you're gonna die wearing that stupid little hat !'

Does Rambo count ? The 1st and 4th ones ? Maybe a slightly cheesy choice but c'mon.. biggrin.gif You must admit we're all just waiting and hoping for Stallone to make his first kill in the 4th movie !!

How about Gran Torino ? Not sure if that counts.... or Magnum Force ?
