Avid have announced that they now have a version of PTHD native here.

64 channels on ASIO or Core Audio and Native has RTAS and AudioSuite support. Note that it can't run TDM plug-ins as it's not got the DSP and isn't 48 fixed point math.

If I remember correctly Staffay mentioned he was interested in PTHD. For anyone looking at PTHD but who does not need TDM this may be an option. AFAIK this will cost 4000 USD plus you have to buy a suitable Avid interface such as an Omni, which adds about another 1500 USD. So that's 5000USD for a native PTHD system (but no TDM) - about 2/3rds the previous cheapest PTHD Accel system if I remember Avid's pricing correctly.
