Today we have an awesome lesson with Lale where he shows you his bending approaches.

Who is, in your opinion, is the master at making his guitar sing?

I am really looking forward to you replies and hoping it will help me discover new guitarists. Youtube links are very appreciated.

I would mention Carlos Santana, Slash and Gary Moore. Love their vocal like melodies/solos.

Though I guess this guy "wins" literally :

Haha, when I was a kid I thought Framton somehow made his guitar literally sing.

Check out Lonnie Mack, I wouldn't say he is "the" master at making the guitar sing, because I don't think there is such a thing as "one" master, but he is definitely an overlooked guitar player. His guitar playing in this video has a very vocal-like quality, which would explain why he was SRV's favorite guitar player.

Every player with great vibrato and bending could produce a vocal quality. Couple that with natural controlled feedback and it's awesome! smile.gif Moore and Santana! biggrin.gif Not sure if someone new can do it in the way they did it back in the days. Not so many soul in today's players, or times have changed smile.gif

There was a guy in a band called Free, Paul Kossoff, who would be way up there IMO!

Mr Friedman, of course biggrin.gif

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cen_2GbgD58 Check out from 5.26 onwards for a lesson in emotive bending !!!! (or just listen to the whole track !) smile.gif

Oh ! But I have to add Jan Cyrka to this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yi1iHDdE964 There's not many vids of him at all, he released 3 solo albums in the 90's, works for Guitarist magazine and is now a respected session musician.. but wish he'd record again !

My vote(s) would have to go for Slash and Brian May.
