I wasn't aware of this until today, but I found out that MOTU has a line of 3 video interface models, and the cheapest one is just under the 500$, which is low enough to enter consumer market.

It's MOTU HD Express:



Great unit at a great price! Let's you connect all the video sources that you have, choose the video source in MOTU software and stream that source into your video host application. It supports HDMI with simultaneous 8 channels for 7.1 audio and uncompressed HD recording, but also important SD legacy inputs like composite video, S-Video, RCA stereo, and RGB composites as well.
