Tiago Della Vega has just broken his own world record. He played "Flight of the Bumble Bee" at a brisk 340bpm. Its so fast it looks like he slows down time. First look at his hands, then look the clock behind him counting the seconds... time really looks like it is slowing down.

My personal feeling is, if I can't distinctly hear every note, it does not count.

We have had these discussion before. Just download him, into VLC, and slow him down, and look. He is just sliding his fingers around, he is not really fingering or articulating notes in any real way. Guys like this just annoy me if anything.

You know Muris. He would sometimes play something pretty fast, as fast as anyone around here, which is fast. But if you slowed him down, you could still hear every note articulated clearly in a tonal fashion.

In any speed competition, this guy here gets disqualified by my personal criteria for what I would expect to be minimum requirements for such a competition.

VLC isn't exactly the greatest software to detect errors in technical ability. The judges had software on hand, provided by Intel to detect any mistake made. Sixteenth notes played at 340 bpm isn't comprehensible to the average human ear... just because we could not detect it does not mean it did not happen. Also, just because we cannot see X-rays does not mean they don't exist tongue.gif

While it certainly is cool, I'm more intrigued by the guitar he is playing, it looks really cool. Anybody know what brand it is? Probably a custom of some kind.

It does sound like a bumble bee smile.gif bzzzz! So fast you can't actually distinguish notes. He had to cut the distortion almost all the way off or it would have just been a blur. Hel's almost playing it totally sans overdrive.

I hate to say it but I actually thought the previous attempt in the older video sounded a bit better just because he's playing fractionaly slower and you can actually hear the pick articulations.
