Otherwise known as the "broken chord", arpeggios are one of those technical elements to practice on a daily basis. First check out Ivan's new lesson, "Apreggio Workshop Series - Level 2", and then post a reply to today's topic.

Lend some advice, practice methods, linking patterns, to help get a hold of this monster. Where do you use arpeggio's most frequently?

Saw this video last night concerning thoughts on arpeggios: Dave Martone 0:15 onwards.

EDIT: Just had a look at the lesson and it looks well structured and informative. Good work Ivan!

Thanks dark dude! smile.gif

Arpeggios are something I tend to use not as a whole up & down pattern, but more in combination with other licks, and combining different smaller arp patterns together. This sounds more natural compared to sweeping them, although sweeping full arpeggios is a great way of using them as well, and can produce some very musical lines.

For practicing arpeggios I strongly recommend my arpeggio workshop series. These lessons are indeed huge, they take a lot of time to master, but they are excellent if you want to learn ALL arpeggios. My goal was to make these lessons for long term practicing, but in the end you can say without problem that you have mastered complete arpeggio foundation that a professional musician needs to have.

Definately! I'm working on adding some arpeggios to my improv. at the mo and this is a great help.
