Today I was reading some posts on a guitar forum from people that had been playng but didn't think they had evolved much since they started.. I personally bealive that these people are just throwing them selfs down and don't have a clues of how far they have come.. so I came up with an simple exercise that will boost anybody that thinks this way by showing them how much they really improved biggrin.gif ..

The First thing you need to do is change hands (by turning the guitar upside down a la Jimi Hendrix )

So you start at your normal playng posish..

Attached Image

and just turn the guitar to the other way

Attached Image

now try to play a just the first pentatonic box... that will be 1 - 4
1 - 3
1- 3
1- 3

Dam I don't know why but my pc posted this thread by it self I dind't finish nor corrected it.. and I don't knwo why but I can't edit it either.. if any moderator can at least Change the "se" to "see" on the topic title I would apreciate it..

(continuation)
the first pentatonic box upside down would be:

1 - 4
1 - 3
1 - 3
1 - 3
1 - 4
1 - 4

this will make you fell like you felt when you where just starting out.. and bealive me you will see how simple things you can do now were so dam hard..

there is somthing really worng in here huh.gif I posted the fingering worng wacko.gif

this is the right way:

1 - 4
1 - 4
1 - 3
1 - 3
1 - 3
1 - 4

Heheh good idea man for testing the skills smile.gif)

Generally we tend not to notice progress after initial beginning steps where everything is so clear.

I would recommend recording videos/audio as much as one can. That is the best evaluation you can get.
