What strings would anyone recommend for playing metal, are there any like "unknown" string brands out there that rock but arn't mainstream (skull. etc)

also im looking for big distortion without losing tone, within an acceptable price, what pedals should we be looken at, im using some krank stuff that cost me a bundle and i love it works well for metal, but what else is out there?

the Line6 Spider III series is inexpensive and has big time distortion. it's also a modeling amp, so it's capable of many different tones. you might grow out of it eventually, but i think it's a good investment.

guitars; i'd say go Ibanez or ESP all the way for metal laugh.gif

Im already using a Spyder line 6 and HATE IT.. it hates my boss grundge which is what im using for distortion, so i went and got myself a krank amp but the line 6 switches effects without warning and its terrible for gigging. but i agree with the boss stuff its nice equiptment and rather afordable smile.gif

whoa didn't realize you already had a nice amp ohmy.gif

i thought you were a big time beginner, in which case a line6 would be ok since nobody cares about tone too much when they start laugh.gif
