Hey guys, so im finishing the long, expensive and beautiful task of making a vintage, beat up, broken guitar into a tone monster machine, i think the flying v now is my first choice to record something with humbuckers, the thing sings!

a couple of weeks ago i receive in the mail the latests updates, a bare knuckle pickup called "the mule" for the bridge, and my beloved sperzel locking tuners.

I COULDN'T be any happier about both, i have the sperzel's on my strat too so i was expecting nothing but the best (and they are the best locking tuners in the world), but i was pretty new to bare knuckle, i just got 3 words for this pick up.

OH MY GOD ohmy.gif

the thing sounds INCREDIBLE, very open, full creamy vintage tone, it is a little bit expensive, but in my opinion beats dimarzio (and i own a lot of dimarzio) and seymour duncan, it just sounds right.

now on the neck i have a dimarzio fred (it was on the bridge), but thats just waiting to be changed for a bare knuckle. i think im also changing my strat biggrin.gif, what can i say im love smile.gif.

here are some pics to get some GAS going.
oh and by the way, im looking to change the tune o matic, its giving me trouble, for more info on that, and hope you can help:

Your V looks killer! cool.gif You're giving me motivation to hot rod my V! I Bought a cherry V (Gibson) over the summer on Ebay as a hot rod project, I'll have to post the picks at some point, as I have it stripped down for painting, and plan to replace the very low stock frets with some super Jumbo stainless steel fret wire.I'm thinking of trying to refret it myself...? I was also thinking of the Bare Knuckles for pick ups... the mule sounds like it's a good match. I like the pick guard... where did you find that?

Adrian that V is super sexy ! I've heard a lot of good stuff about Bareknuckle.. if they beat DiMarzio AND Seymour Duncans then they've got something good going ! cool.gif

By the way, at the risk of embarrising myself... what do people mean by 'GAS' ? huh.gif

Hey brother, thanks for the comments, i did the same to my v, it has jumbo dunlops, i recommend you send it to a pro tobe honest, a millimeter can do a difference with it comes to tuning.

the mule, ROCKS

and the pickguard is made by my friends at greasy groove, google em up smile.gif

Hey dude!, well, that's in my humble opinion, both companies are great, and i used and abused both, but BK rocks just harder, from the pickup actual weight to the amazing vintage sound.

gas means, Gear Acquisition Syndrome. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
