Caught this on Youtube this morning, happened just a short while before this post. Some of the footage is absolutely insane.

Some horrifying images... Can't imagine what it's like now in the dark.

Hope they save as many people as possible.

Very sad to see this. Japan endures a "tremor" on average every five minutes. And now this. The worst quake in japan since they made instruments to track it. The ripple effect of the economic impact is also something the world doesn't need just now. I wish the Japanese the best of luck as they face this. The wave is going to hit the west coast of the U.S. as well but it should be much smaller by then.

One concern is the nuclear plants in range of the Tsunami caused by the quake. No big problems yet, but something to keep an eye on.

Japan sits on a HUGE fault line. Now some folks are saying "It's too shallow", so it could be the precursor to a bigger quake (only a small chance of this thank goodness). I sure hope not.

This is just insane and horrible... I'll pray for the future of Japanese people. This is a terrible human catastrophe and I hope people there will have the strenght and tenacity to survive. Hopefully the meltdown won't cause as much harm as Tshernosbyl... I just can't imagine what they are going through.

If there's anyone Japanese among GMC:ers, I sure hope we'll hear from them.

News are getting worse every hour...now a nuclear power plant reports some explosions and people have to flee from the area. Terrible stuff...the earth is really moving these days. Last year it was the volcano, this year New Zealnd and Japan got hit by huge earthquakes so far (not forgetting about the other countries that suffered from the recent Tsunami).

First Christchurch, then even bigger in Japan, luckly they had earthquake proofing and they didnt colapse... it wasn't so much the earthquake but the tsunami created from it which caused the damage! ... we all know about 2012 right? Time to get prepared?
