Thought I might introduce myself here. I wasnt going to bother but am so full of joy at this moment that I thought I would just write a few words.

I have been playing on and off for 39 years and took some flamenco lessons about 6 years ago after being mesmerised by the music. I tried and tried to master the basics and in particular rasgueado but never really got anywhere. On and off since then I have been chipping away at it and this evening I finally cracked a passable rusgueado. Whoooo hoooo. Over the last few weeks I've been refining and refining hand positions, angles, thumb positions, in fact all the many variables.

This evening whilst studying the 50 excercises video I was struck by a bolt of lightning as I realised the final piece in the jigsaw, tried it and hey presto it works. Its not perfect and Paco I am not, but the principals are all in place and it sounds and looks authentic. Cant tell you how happy I am.

Sorry to sound like a lunatic but I never thought I would get there. Just hope I can remember all the elements in the morning.
