You're now able to light up your fretboard with your Guitar Pro file's notes, pretty cool.

It may help visualise songs a bit better, but it'd be pretty useless to people like me, who are very used to tab.

Hmmm, maybe I don't get it, wasn't there always an option in GP to see the fretted notes moving on the fretboard?

There is an option, but using a special guitar, lights on the guitar's fretboard light up instead.

Todd has one or two of these Fretlights.

Really? Where might one find this option?

'
View -> Fretboard
Didnt know someone actually found that option useful though, so maybye they removed it on GP6 (I use the, what I feel is, superior 5.2) smile.gif

GP6: View -> Instrument panel

The only thing I found it useful for was bringing up different scales while the notes were being shown, allowing you to follow the theory a bit more easily.

I like the idea of this. Generally it can help people memorize scales easier.

Todd here wink.gif I'm actually endorsed by FRETLIGHT and I"m a big fan of it as a teaching tool. Many folks just hate it and to each his own. I personally think it's a great idea and wish these were around when I was first learning. For teaching and learning, I'm all for anything that get's you to "better". Of course, it's pretty easy to diss it, but then again, I"m pretty good at making fun of just about anything. But humor aside, I'm thrilled to see FRETLIGHT and GUITAR PRO 6 Finally integrated! I'd have killed to have one of these and this software when I was first learning.

Also, you can tell it now to show a scale and just sort of "chase" the lights back and forth which looks spiff during a solo. smile.gif Here is my entry for a SHRED THIS comp where I used the fretlight just for kicks.

That's a cool option, why not smile.gif I had keyboards when I was little, it had small LED lights above keys, and I learned some cool songs very easy this way. I guess it's a nice way to start playing the guitar too smile.gif

I use GUITAR PRO in my lessons and always make sure to provide the GP5 files for download. So even if you go download GP6 you can still open the files smile.gif It's great software and the demo is worth a try.
