Wow! That sounded great! You are an inspiration to a "weakling smurf" like me. Just curious though, are you saying this is your 81st REC within two years? Congrats!

Gary

Well, it's my 81st passing lesson in a little over 2 years. I had a couple of failures along the way (4, I think). I re-posted passing takes on 3 of them and will hopefully post a passing take on the 4th soon.

Hang in there, smurf. Practice every day and ask questions in the forum when you get stuck. You can PM me directly if you want to.

Too bad I still don't see the title Ultimate under your name here in the forums... won't believe till I see it. laugh.gif

I've been thinking of doing this same thing (to get good and be recognized by doing REC after REC after REC) but I've come to realize the way for me is probably going to be a reverse of that - first I'll train my technique and playing skills to the top (wherever I can be contended, still looking) using mainly exercises and freestyle jamming and then I'll get to know all the variety of styles and tips GMC has to offer.

I think both of these are methods that take patience and hard work. However, I do think it's possible to get good any way, as long as you keep playing.

Yup.. Patience is a must. The more you play the better you will get, thats for sure.. BUT, you will need to practice harder lessons each time. There was a time while I was back at school. I was like one of the best guitarist back then. I could play hotel california god damn it. smile.gif And then, there were these kids who hardly strummed chords. Every year passed by and I was like, what, they got better and better and I am stuck with the same thing? Obviously, they practiced lot with licks from Metallica and what not (I wasn't into that).. so you know what the lesson is here. smile.gif

You will eventually get there. 2 years is a lot of time. I initially joined here thinking 1 year is long enough to master speed and theory but its been 2 years now, still haven't got there. smile.gif
