Pawn shops in the US are pretty interesting places, you can find everything from guitars to the Terminators shotgun. Its essentially one giant man cave. You can find the most obscure guitar equipment and some pretty interesting firearms in these places.

Check out this pawn shop located in Georgia, the salesman looks like he belongs in a Quintin Tarantino flick. By the way, don't mind the guy working the camera, hes a bit of a tosser.

Wow, and that's just one of the many pawn shops you can find in the states. I hope that they've got good locks on the doors! smile.gif

It's really crazy man - I can't imagine those shops around here. It's really a US thing.
I always wondered which guitar treasures you could find in such shops in the states smile.gif))

Love the terminator shotgun - gotta watch that movie again smile.gif

You gotta love Pawn Shops! I'm actually in Georgia and I've been in a few shops like that where it's a bit gun heavy smile.gif My Fav pawn shops tend to be a bit more gear/guitar heavy. The closer you get to the city, the guns tend to get smaller (hand guns instead of rifles) and more used electronics/guitars show up. Not in all cases, but in more than most.

I was a bit shocked to find out there are not many pawn shops in Europe. Seems like a gap in the market. Also, a bit shocked to find there is no "Guitar Center", "Sam Ash Music", etc. basically guitar shops seem to be in short supply. But being as guns are more restricted in Europe I can see the pawn shop thing not working, but I would think guitar shops could do pretty well in a good sized city in Europe.

If you haven't been to the states, and you are in to either Guitars or Guns or both, it's worth a visit wink.gif Here is another vid from Moss Pawn showing their assault guns and such. "Best selection on the south side of Atlanta" is there motto. Of course, if you are willing to drive up to the north side, you can get an entirely different selection. smile.gif

Woah.. as an English guy who's never been to the States, I can't imagine how surreal and out of place I'm going to feel when encountering an accent like that, talking about guns !! ohmy.gif

A gun shop would not be indicated in Romania - too many crazy people out there!

But a pawn shop selling guitars and related stuff would be totally awesome - we have one, maybe two in Bucharest but the stuff isn't too good..don't expect too find "jewels" sad.gif

This looks like a gun fanatic's video. I can understand that there are people who like firearms and collect them and use them on some fire range with targets, but if there are lots of these people, and if they start to use firearms outside those fire ranges - that is what I do not like smile.gif

It would be cool to watch something like this with a music gear shop tho. The guy in a music gear shop would be still a nerd (like this one on this video), but at least he would be a nerd who is interested in objects that serve for artistic expression, instead of firearms, which are weapons that can bring death and destruction. I believe there's a distinction between those two?

Yeah, like I said earlier, the guy holding the camera is a bit of a wanker tongue.gif Guns are a lot of fun, but I don't believe in glorifying them. Theres some people that think they're less of a person if they don't have their firearms, which I think is mental. But I must say though, I have seen many people that were initially afraid of firearms go out and get their own after they went down to the range and actually used one biggrin.gif Its really up to the mentality of the person holding it that determines if its dangerous or not.

I understand that guns are a lot of fun, and that it is fun to go on a range and shoot. I would engage in a paintball experience with friends, or go shoot on a range for sports, in targets. Shooting is sport discipline. However, even guns that work on air pressure are dangerous if not used carefully.

What to say about the amount of guns in this pawn shop? That big automatic gun doesn't seem like something a normal pedestrian would keep home for fun or protection.

Anyway, most of weapons in that store is for war, it's not for sports, so my point is, I would close that shop in order to prevent people to buy it. That's all I'm saying. I would open a tool shop, or music gear shop, so people can create something instead of shoot.

I apologize if I offended anyone, this is my opinion. Weapon is for destruction, feeding an ego, having blind sense of power. Power that instinctively exists in people, and attracts people. Power to destroy and kill. This power is not supposed to be fed and kept growing, if we were to remain alive on this planet.

Theres no need to apologize for your opinions, its all good biggrin.gif Just to let you know, none of those weapons are fully automatic, that feature has been removed. Also, that pawn shop is in Atlanta, which is a very big city. Most of the ones I've been to don't have that kind of selection. And besides, we all know how effective banning something is wink.gif As long as there is a demand for a product, it will always be available, no matter what the product or punishment for its possession is.

I cannot think of one reason why these guns would be in demand, single fire mode, or semi-automatic. I mean, what's the point in having a cannon? smile.gif

Pawn shops always weird me out and this is exactly the reason why. 90% of the guns they sell have no place in the hands of civilians and most of them are loaded with fire arms. Not to turn this political, but I think the only guns people should be allowed to buy in the US are hunting riffles (ironically the one section of the store in the video that he shows for split second, but doesn't even really talk about the guns).

That being said, they can be a great place to find some good gear at a good price, but a lot of times you run in to a lot of crap guitars....amps and pedals on the other hand are usually at least decent.

But yeah, who needs a semi automatic with a laser sight for camping or hunting?

Who? The same people that need a three channel guitar amp with 12 pedals in the signal chain and a guitar that has a 7 position selector switch tongue.gif
