How To Tell Which Key Your In |

yea i know, and does that note that you play..so will that be the root note everytime??

The root note will be in a different location for each box - most scale charts mark them in a different colour. The root note is your signpost to understanding how the different boxes fit together. for like the normal patterns you play, it is like what the rest said...
but then you get like sharp something bla bla bla which gets alot more complicated |

Scales with a sharp (like G#, F#, C#) are exactly the same as any other scales, you just start at a different place on the fret board ... or were you meaning something else? -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

Definatley - there are a lot of really wierd sounding exotic scales. They are worth being aware of, but I wouldn't go out and learn them all
