Hello there! I don't know if this was done before, but i decided to make a topic about bands that are influenced by traditional music or bands that play traditional music.And on this topic i want us to post some cool bands that are influenced by traditional music.

I'll check all these guys. I'll add Nguyen Lê to the list, a fusion guitarist who works alot with traditionnal music, especially vietnamese music. He's also my uncle so i'll make a bit of advertisement  This is one of my favorite track but i couldn't find it on youtube so i hope you don't mind grooveshark http://grooveshark.com/s/The+Black+Horse+L...+O/2UVnVu?src=5 And a unique performance mixing electric guitar, koto and tablas. And i want to say this one more time: Your uncle is great! This is a band from my city...the band is called Phoenix (also known as Transsylvania-Phoenix). The band was formed in 1962, but they only started to mix Rock music with traditional folk music in the 70s. They are really big here in Romania and i think they are also well known in other countries from Europe and maybe other continents. This is a song called Baba Novak...i think it has some Macedonian influences...so this is it: Hope you enjoy it!:D |
