My favorite are Hansi Kursh from Blind Guardian, Rob Halford of Judas Priest and Warrel Dane from Nevermore (although I like his solo stuff much more). Of course can't say a bad word about for example Dio, he sure was one of the best, also another Sabbath singer - Tony Martin is superb singer if You ask me. But the first three I listed came to my mind fastest:)

EDIT: I like good old James Hatfield very much also, but for me he is quite different than what I imagine when saying "metal singer". Now after more thinking I can say that also singer from Savatage was/is great, Hall of the Mountain King comes to my mind:)

Bruce Dickinson is my number one favorite singer period, the theatrics and dynamics are unmatched in any genre. But, since he has already been picked, and since Hansi Kursch has already been picked I must name another great.

Mr. Mikael Akerfeldt.

I don`t think I have one particular favorite, but the first ones that come to mind is:

Dio, Jorn (Jørn Lande), Russel Allen (Symphony X), Mikael Åkerfeldt (if death metal is included), Nils Rue (of Pagans Mind), Spencer Soleto (of Periphery).

Dio is my #1. I also like Halford, Dickinson and Eric Adams to name a few others. Klaus Meine, Dee Snider and Freddie Mercury (if he counts) to name a few more.

Wasn't sure if most people would call his work "metal", but ok. wink.gif

He has been a big influence for many metal singers but he isn't usually related to metal. However there are some old albums by Queen that are very Metal.

Dee Snider! It's awesome how he keep his voice through the years! I saw new live shows and he has the same voice quality than in the 80's!

Ryan Clark with Demon Hunter. They are the only metal band I currently listen to. I don't really favor metal as much.
