Are there any cover that you like more than the original song ?!
Some will say that the originals are much better, I would be partially agreed, but sometimes an artist makes it not only to copy the original song, but also improves it drastically. Only in this case the remake should have a right to exist. I would like to see your favorite, if you have them..

Great Topic!

There is a very talented artist in Israel named Geva Alon and he covers David Bowie's Modern Love.

David Bowie:

GnR and Limp Bizkit did a great job recreating their own version of cover song (making it better in my taste). Sorry, but I would honestly not even know the originals if it wasn't for them.

It can go both ways when doing a cover, either a great recreate (needs to be something different and new just based on the old stuff to stand out and your got a lot of work up to) or terrible (nothing worst than just killing a classic), even as a clone (woah what a copycat, where's your own creativity or that's a pretty good playing of that song)...

So a 1/3 chance of being great, your gotta be talented and really love or hate that original. I guess for some it's a great stepping stone and if you play a song enough you tend to play around, mix it up a bit and make it your own.

I very mush like the cover of All Along The Watchtower made by Hendrix, but the original is also great:

I like the Scorpions version of "Dust in the Wind". Sounds much better the original to me.

I like Jeff Buckley's Version of "Halleluja" better than Leonard Cohen's (though he still is a great musician!) smile.gif
