Hi
I have an old RG270 I'm using to try and learn about guitar setup.

I adjusted the truss rod (counter clockwise) to get the neck straight and the guitar is a little bit out of innotation. I don't see any innotation screws on the bridge. Do I really have to take the cover off the back and adjust the position of the springs? If so, which direction do I go, if the guitar is a little sharp? Do I drive the screws into the body or away?

Thanks!

Setup process known to bring a lot of headaches, especially if you're not sure what you doing! I would suggest you to read this article carefully before you decide to experiment!

great link. I am just learning on my old guitar. I played with truss rod, action and spring claw. It's setup fairly well, though I'm trying to get action even lower

From what I understand, the straighter the neck, the lower action can be...correct? So I guess the proper way is to go back and forth between the two? ie: Adjust truss rod, then address action. If you get some buzz (depending on where on the fretboard), possibly re-adjust truss rod again? I just need this part clarified

Thanks!

Partially true. But let's assume that the neck is perfect, but some fret(s) is slightly higher than the others - in that case truss rod settings wont help ! To measure frets masters use a metal ruler. This is the first requirement for a low action !

Check this out....carefully biggrin.gif

edit: Don't worry, the same procedure is for the electric wink.gif
