> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

hey Finn! The take is pretty good, although you have minor timing slips! Also, take care when switching left hand positions so that you may perform the correct intonations of some of the notes which sounded a little out of pitch and, finally the vibrato has to be wider and controlled. Keep on practicing mate! I'll get back to you regarding the track in the mail, as I had to leave home yesterday after the v-chat wink.gif cheerios!

It's a great take actually. I would focus a bit more on timing.

Make sure you tune the guitar before recording as well.

i like this take, and i live your rtythm hand, very nice it reminds me of my own left hand when i see it on a video, it's very relaxed even playing metal, that's a very good sign.

Now you do have to improve your timing and vibrato, you are not that far from being there, but you need to practice a bit more and lock in the groove.

Great take, Finny.. your timing sounded pretty good to me 99% of the time and Adrian is right about you having a relaxed picking hand which is crucial for developing the ability to play in time in a natural way. smile.gif

As the guys said, your vibrato could do with some attention sometime in the future but seeing as the focus of this lesson is rhythm and you did that well, it's a 9 from me cool.gif

I think it's good enough for 10, but I will give it a 9 because the guitar is out of tune a bit, and timing is not really 100% convincing. It's a great take nonetheless.
